Maritimo Boats & Fishing

The Maritimo M62’s like this one are more used to having wine splashed on their decks than fish blood. Greg and his mate Ross love a bit fishing, so when the opportunity presented itself to wet a line well wide of Fraser Island in the Coral Sea. Well, we couldn’t resist!

We are 100 nautical miles offshore and with the fishing gods smiling on us, it’s a beautiful day to head out on the water for a day of deep-sea fishing! With a brilliant boat, beautiful conditions and clear skies, it was game on for the boys.

Maritimo Boats

Commonly known as blue water cruisers, these Maritimo boats can cross seas if need be. Fishing in about 70m of water, we cast our line in just north the top of Sandy Cape, we are champagne fishing!

With the fish pulling the rods hard under the boat, the cameraman Adam unfortunately reeling and pull the fish too hard, managed to snap the fishing rod right in half. An unfortunate carnage which happen to be owned the owner of the boats brand new fishing rod! A very expensive piece of kit!

With something under our boat absolutely smashing our hookups, We decide to call it a day and take our esky full of fish back to our night time anchorage of Double Island Point. Thanks to the beautiful conditions out on the water and our brilliant fishing guides and skippers, we enjoyed a beautiful day out Maritimo, which provided a luxurious and steady vessel for the day.
