Just north of Bundaberg, there are a few beaches around the town of Bargara that can have waves during swells from the east that sneak between Fraser Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Neilson Park, Bargara and Kellys Beaches are popular with the friendly local surfing community, along with the beaches to the south. The line up does get surprisingly busy here, so be sure to practise surfing etiquette at all times.

Bargara Beach Accommodation

Bring your caravan and stay at the Bargara Beach Caravan Park. With a location so close to the beach, the caravan park is the perfect place to camp out, relax and enjoy the swell. Bargara beach also offers surfing lessons for patron looking to really up their surfing game. The Surf School Bargara is located on Woongarra Scenic Dr and is Open every day between the hours of 9 am to 4.30 pm. They offer lessons for all ages and any level of skill.

Things to do in Bargara, QLD

Aside from learning how to surf, Bargara has a number of other things to offer including:

  • Search for sea creatures in the Barolin Rockpools
  • Swim in the clear waters at The Basin
