Bribie Island Cut In Half As The Storm Washes In

Bribie Island has been hit hard by the storm that’s ravaging the South East Coast.

Bribie Island’s rough swell has claimed half of Woorim Beach turning the island into two parts – with locals calling it Bribie North and South.

Byron Bay has lost its main beach, Currumbin Surf Club is flooded, Noosa and Maroochy rivers are flooding.

Energex has been working to restore electricity to over 16,000 homes across the state – mainly Sunshine Coast and the Brisbane Coast.

The dangerous weather is expected to continue well into next week and that many locals along the coast from Bundaberg to Northern New South Wales should be prepared.
