Gladstone Fishing Spots

From luscious lakes to calming creeks, Gladstone is a fisherman’s dream. You definitely don’t want to forget the boat if you’re making a trip up this Queensland coast. Here you can catch anything from Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Grunter, Perch, Whiting, Bream, flathead and more.

If you’re looking for a top freshwater fishing spot, head over to Lake Awoonga. Aside from their brilliant barramundi, Lake Awoonga also has a gorgeous resort, so you relax and enjoy a few days out on the water.

If saltwater fishing is more your speed than you can find boat-access through to pancake creek. A great location for finding a bit of brim. The Tannum Sands and Boyne Island are also top picks when it comes to saltwater fishing. Beautiful locations which offer catches of whiting, brim and flathead.

Now, for those without a boat, look up and check out the beach fishing at Farmers Point. At the south end of Gladstone, this location is best for fishing at high tide.
