The town of Mogo in Southern New South Wales is soon to be connected to Batemans Bay by 125 km of new trails placing Eurobodalla as one of the top mountain biking destinations in NSW.
Trail hound and Moruya mountain bike shop owner, Angus Murphy, welcomed the $3 million contribution from state government, “we’ve got the trail fairies that have been building tracks for some time now, but having a formal trail network of professional tracks is going to make the area explode with mountain bikers.”
Blue Derby TAS, Mystic MTB Park VIC and Thredbo have lead the two wheel charge down under proving that if you build it, they will come.
With nature-based tourism in the region being heavily impacted by the New Years bushfires and COVID-19, the funding is offering residents and business owners a bright future. The Mogo trails network has the potential to attract 45,000 visitors to Eurobodalla in its first year of operation, resulting in an estimated $11.8 million injection to the local economy.
Well renowned company Dirt Art has been appointed the fun task of creating the new Mogo Adventure Trail.
