Queensland’s Fishing App Finally Updated

0

New software has been launched by the Queensland Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Dubbed “Fishing QLD 2.0”, the free app boasts improved features for the avid angler and helps further protect our invaluable marine resources.

40,000 fishing enthusiasts snagged the original “QLD Fishing” app but developers of its successor say the upgrade will be worth your time given the new artificial intelligence feature. Identify your catch and determine an estimated age by simply uploading an image of your fish to the app.

The other big development is the ability to cache data on your phone so it can be used in Queensland’s most remote locations.

Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner summarised the apps other functionality:

  • “Can I Fish Here” feature finds your location to present local fishing rules
  • Receive notifications about fishing closures and updates
  • Purchase fishing permits for dams and weirs
  • Contact Fisheries Queensland to make an enquiry or submit important information

Download the new app for free from the Play Store or App Store.
