With Queensland Good to Go !! We thought it the right time to head west into Queensland’s Outback!

Dean & Karen pick up the new van from Brisbane Camperland

After picking up the brand new Jayco Journey Outback from Brisbane Camperland, Karen and I hit the road up and over the Great Divide to our first stop Roma, the gateway to the west.

Everything in Roma is BIG! The Roma Saleyards is the largest in the southern hemisphere and if you’re lucky, you will see cattle going through the process of being bought and sold, trucked in and out !! Bulldust Cattle and Roadtrains !! Love it!

The Big Rig is a great place to visit in Roma. The gas Industry started out here 100 years ago and as you are probably aware, is still going strong in these parts.

Queensland’s unique and wonderful Bottle Tree is another claim to Roma’s fame endemic to the area and they line the streets of this quaint country town !!

Roma’s largest bottle tree

Our next stop in this episode is the town of Blackall and if you are towing a van, can I suggest you pull in here for a night or two. Its a beautiful country park filled with Boganvillia has a great camp kitchen and fireplace for late-night chats and you must try park owner Debs famous rissoles !! Delish
