In a surprise decision camping restrictions have been introduced at North Stradbroke coming up to the Easter Holidays.

The Easter Holidays are typically the biggest camping holiday in Queensland and the move to restrict numbers has locals and campers nervous alike.

Ever popular Minjerribah Camping has capped the number of campers on the island and closed three other sites in addition to two sites that are already closed. According to Minjerribah they closed Adams Beach due to radioactive contamination, Bradbury was closed due to COVID and has used this time for redevelopment of the site.

Adder Rock, Home Beach and Amity are all currently closed to the public for COVID safe plans under the heading of protecting campers and the indigenous community.

They haven’t permanently banned tent camping nor have they cancelled any Easter Bookings claims Minjerribah Camping on their website. They are waiting on the Queensland Government to give clearance for Adams Beach.
